Short Curriculum Vitae

Sebastian Hoffmann studied Media Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences in Furtwangen, Germany from 1992 to 1996. He specialized in Instructional Design at the University of Cincinnati / Ohio and in Psychometrics at the University of Western Australia / Perth.

• From 1996 to 1997 he conceptualized and initiated one of the first eLearning providers in Germany- the Tele-Akademie - in a multidisciplinary team of engineers, pedagogues, and psychologists at the University of Furtwangen.
• From 1997 to 2001 Sebastian was the Development Manager of the eLearning technology unit at a Cologne-based software consultancy company. He conceptualized and developed a state-of-the-art, Web-based knowledge building architecture, which included technologies for eLearning, collaboration and knowledge management.
• In 2001 Sebastian has been a founding member of Hoffmann&Reif; contracts with the telecommunication industry, public sector and the educational and development cooperation sector in the field of knowledge building applications, strategic eLearning consulting and organisational development.
• Sebastian has been speaker at many international conferences, e.g. Online Educa, eLearning Africa, the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE), Learntec, and the World Summit on the Information Society.
